How have potholes affected your cycling?

At Cycling UK we think potholes and other road defects are an avoidable hazard if local authorities were aware of them...and if they had the funding not just to fix them, but also to prevent them in the first place.

Fill That Hole is Cycling UK's ongoing campaign to tackle the problem of Britain's crumbling roads. For cyclists, sadly it's inevitable that a pothole won't just mean a visit to a bike shop but probably also a hospital. With cyclists more likely to suffer personal injury than just property damage if they hit a pothole, we're looking to illustrate the human cost if poorly maintained roads.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of a pothole while out cycling then we'd like to hear from you. Please fill in the short form below with your story, and do let us know if you're OK with us to share your story with members of the media, who may wish to speak with you about your experience.
